About Blue Ridge Campus
A thoughtfully planned technology infrastructure project designed to balance innovation, responsible development, and the character of Shenandoah County.
The project has been designed around a simple idea: critical technology infrastructure can be developed thoughtfully, with careful consideration for the land, neighboring properties, natural resources, and the community around it.
The campus has been planned to work with the characteristics of the property rather than compete with them. Building heights are limited to approximately 45 feet, with many of the site's mature trees extending above the buildings. Landscaping, setbacks and existing vegetation are important elements of the project's approach.
Water Designed to Stay in the System
The proposed closed-loop cooling system continuously recirculates water rather than relying on ongoing withdrawals for cooling. After an initial fill with deionized water, the system circulates water through the facility, removes heat through air-cooled equipment, and returns the cooled water to the system for reuse, minimizing ongoing water demand and avoiding routine cooling-water discharge.
